We are a friendly, diverse and inclusive group of keen cricketers that specialises in helping strong players to develop and compete at the highest level with a very competitive squad that has a strong supportive culture.
After the 2024 season, we were the strongest team in our region and the second best team in Middlesex. We won the MJCA South region cup in 2024 and were runners up in the MJCA League Final. We beat the 2024 south region league winners Wycombe House 4 times in a row, but 2 abandoned games meant we didn't win the Middlesex tier 1 regional league for the 3rd time in a row.
We welcome new players every year seeking to progress inside a strong cohort that plays a lot of cricket both in and out of season. Our squad's experience ranges from beginners to county players. Every year we send players to both Surrey and Middlesex to compete with the best in both counties. Our coaches develop a strong team culture by playing in a wide range of leagues and giving players the chance all aspects of their game in a supportive, friendly environment that plays a lot of games. In our set-up there are no expensive academies that you find out too late that you need to join to guarantee tier 1 selection. We have a well developed player pathway that gives opportunities to up and coming players to perform at tier 1 level. We select on both merit and inclusion, based on different leagues and our selection committee utilises 5 leagues to help players develop their skills in a wide variety of settings.
In 2024, we played 52 games including 2 Middlesex midweek leagues, 2 Surrey Sunday leagues, the MJCA cup (finalists), regional play-off cup (winners), the MJCA summer development league, lots of friendlies and 2 tournaments against some of the best teams in and around London.
Our entire squad of 45 averaged just under 13 games/player in the 2024 season but A team players averaged over 23 matches (excluding playing up) so players at all levels get a lot of time to learn where it counts, in the middle.
We train all year round, focusing on building new skills each week and keeping our players in touch with the game during off-season. New players looking to try out are very welcome to come along to our free off-season training every week on Saturday mornings 9-11 outdoors at Old Deer Park (please contact Rick in advance). These start again in Sept 2025 through to Christmas, then restart again in late January/early February 2026. The club offers 3-4 indoor net sessions with our pro-coaches each week at facilities across the area during the off-season.
We take pride in bringing players up from the B team, many of whom played up to the As in 2024 and 3 of whom cemented their places in the tier 1 team. Our ethos is that everyone gets the chance to progress and the opportunity to shine.
During the 2025 season from April 25th, we will train weekly, led by our pro coach Adi Kansra supported by trained, background-checked parent coaches. We coach all levels, use bowling machines when appropriate and focus on playing as a supportive team while developing core skills with the ball, bat and in the field.
One highlight of the season is celebrating our players’ achievements at our awards night at Old Deer Park where we hand out achievement awards to 20 players of all levels of experience as well as player medals to every member of our squad, including the younger players who support some of our games in high summer.
Our ultimate goal is to nurture a lifelong love of cricket regardless of ability or experience.
Come and join us - all welcome!
